Սիրելի բարեկամներ, վերջերս ես մի նամակ ստացա իմ լավ ընկեր Էդուարդ Աթանեսյանից: Նա պատմեց ինձ, որ իր տասը տարեկան տղան՝ Բենիամինը, նամակ է գրել Հայոց բանակին: Երբ ես տեսա երեխայի կողմից գեղեցիկ կերպով ձևավորված ծրարը և կարդացի դրանում առկա նամակը, ապա որոշեցի ներկայացնել այն բոլորիդ: Հուզիչ էր տեսնել այս փոքրիկ տղայի ստեղծագործական մոտեցումը իր նամակին և բացահայտել այն խորը ասելիքը, խորը «մեսիջը», որն առկա է դրա բովանդակության մեջ: Իհարկե, առաջին հերթին ես խնդրեցի իմ ընկերոջը թույլ տալ ներկայացնելու, հրապարակելու իր տղայի նամակը և միայն նրա բարի թույլտվությունը ստանալուց հետո որոշեցի գրել այս հոդվածը:
Օտարազգի իմ բազմահազար ընթերցողների համար այս նամակի բովանդակությունը հասանելի դարձնելու նպատակով ես դրա հիմնական ասելիքը խնամքով թարգմանել ու ստորև մանրամասն կերպով ներկայացրել եմ անգլերեն լեզվով: Արտասահմանցի ընթերցողներիս նշել եմ, թե որքան հզոր է Հայոց բանակը և թե ինչպես է երեխան հպարտանում մեր բանակով ու զինվորով: Իսկ ահա հայ ընթերցողներիս համար ստորև պարզապես ներկայացնում եմ նամակի տեսածրումը (սկանը):
Ես հպարտ եմ այս բալիկով, քանի որ այնքան շատ հայրենասիրություն կա նրա մեջ, այնքան շատ սեր ու նվիրում իր Հայրենիքի նկատմամբ: Նա սիրում է իր Պետությունն ու պետական խորհրդանիշները և պատրաստ է ծառայել սիրելի Երկրի համար: Նա անպայման ապրելու է իր Հայրենիքում՝ Հայաստանում: Կարծում եմ, որ փոքրիկ տղայի այս նամակը շատ ուսանելի է…
Շնորհակալություն իմ լավ ընկերոջն ու նրա ընտանիքին, որ այսպիսի զավակ են դաստիարակել: Շնորհակալություն նաև այս փոքրիկ տղային և այն երիտասարդ պայծառ սերնդին, որն արարելու է մեր Պետության վաղվա օրը:

Dear friends, recently I received a letter from my very good friend Eduard Atanesyan. He told me that his ten years old boy Beniamin had written a letter, addressed to the Armenian Army. When I saw this beautifully illustrated envelope by him and read the letter inside it, I decided to introduce this letter to all of you. It was so touching to see this little boy’s creative attitude towards his letter as well as to discover the deep message in the content of it. Of course, firstly I asked my friend to allow me to represent his son’s letter to my audience and after his kind permission I wrote this article. For my Armenian audience I just represented the scan of the letter (see below), but for all my foreign readers I have translated the main content of the letter and now it is my pleasure to introduce it in English. This little boy writes to the Armenian soldier, expressing his deep appreciation to the powerful Armenian army that we have in our State, in Armenia. He describes that the military service is hard and each soldier he has to overcome all the difficulties, but the final result is the peace we live in today. He also notes, that though he is ten years old, but he is ready to stand by the soldier to protect our homeland. In the second part of his heartbreaking letter this little boy had written a little poem dedicated to the Armenian Army and to the Armenian soldier. He notes, that he is very proud of them. And I am proud of him, because there is so much patriotism in this little boy, so much love and dedication to his Homeland. He loves his State, the symbols of his State and is ready to serve for his beloved Country. He will definitely live in his Homeland, in Armenia. I think that this little boy’s letter is very instructive… Thanks to my friend and his family that they had raised such a wonderful son. I would like to thank also this little boy and all the bright young generation which will create the future day of our State.
