It was reported that Armenia will be represented with the song “Don’t Deny”.
The Turks assume that Armenia will be presenting a song on the occasion of the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide and with lyrics that are strictly against Turkey, reports Artsakhpress.
All Turkish fans of the song contest have launched a petition on change.org, demanding that the European Broadcasting Union disqualify Armenia since, according to the existing rules, politicizing the contest shall be prohibited.
The organizers of the petition complain that the EBU has not responded to Armenia’s action.
The organizers also demand that France be disqualified because it was France’s representative who declared that the song was going to be dedicated to the Armenian Genocide.
Eurovision Song Contest 2015 will be held in Vienna on May 19th, 21st and 23rd with the slogan “Building Bridges”. The Department of Public Relations of Armenia’s First Channel reported that the group of creators at Armenian Public Television, staying true to this year’s slogan, inspired by the idea of the Forget Me Not as the symbol of the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide and guided by the desire of several Diaspora Armenians who have always supported Armenia’s delegates at the song contest, has decided to present a new format for participation in the contest.
Attaching importance to the idea of peace, unity and tolerance, the group of creators at Armenian Public Television has decided to consolidate the new generation of Armenians who became scattered across five continents (Europe, Asia, Americas, Africa, Australia) in 1915. The group includes 5 singers of Armenian descent who will be representing the five petals of the Forget Me Not. They will be joined by another participant from Armenia who will bring the petals together. The group to be formed for the song contest will be called “Genealogy” (6 artists, 6 destinies and 1 story).
