Many also reportedly shouted "Allahu Akbar"
As the world mourns victims of last Friday’s terror attacks in Paris, soccer fans in Turkey appeared to express their dissent for the observances taking place at several public gatherings in Istanbul on Tuesday.
The Turkish supporters booed the minute’s silence observed for the 129 victims of last week’s attacks before their team’s game against Greece, Reuters reported.
According to other reports and video uploaded to social media, many also shouted “Allahu Akbar” (God is the greatest) as both teams stood on the field in silence.
The friendly game, attended by Prime Ministers of both countries, was uneventful aside from the incident, with both teams playing out a 0-0 tie.
