The issues related to cooperation expansion between Yerevan and Tehran were discussed during the meeting of Yerevan Deputy Mayor Aram Sukiasyan with the delegation of Tehran City Hall. The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Iran to Armenia Seyyed Kazem Sajjad was also present at the meeting.

Greeting the guests on behalf of Mayor Taron Margaryan Aram Sukiasyan stressed the friendship and cultural similarities of the two peoples and from this point of view attached importance to cooperation development with Tehran particularly in the sphere of education and culture.

« Numerous examples of successful cooperation between Yerevan and large cities of Iran have been formed so far. In the future it is planned to sigh cooperation agreement between the two capitals, which I am sure will promote development of bilateral ties, will strengthen the cooperation and create possibilities for the implementation of joint projects», said Aram Sukiasyan.
The President of Tehran municipal culture and art organization Mohammad Salahi conveyed the greetings of Tehran Mayor to Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan and expressed gratitude for the meeting and in his turn outlined the importance of cooperation expansion.

« Yerevan is really a friendly and hospitable city and for many Iranians it is like the second home. I am glad to be here and I m sure that this meeting will be effective for realization of joint projects and for making the friendly relations more practical», said Mohamad Salahi. Aram Sukiasyan emphasized the willingness of Yerevan Municipality to expand the cooperation with Tehran. During the meeting the parties also discussed the issues related to the organization of Yerevan days in Tehran and to holding IRI capital's days in Yerevan.
