Yerevan mayor Taron Margaryan was present at the ceremony of opening of the newly built block of flats at Sisakyan 16 in Ajapnyak district of the capital. 100 families living for years in the dormitory buildings at Sisakyan3, Nor Aresh 35 street, N 127/1 and Artsakh str, lane N 10/2 have become owners of new comfortable flats. Handing the keys and the certificates of the flats to the happy owners Mayor Taron Margaryan stressed that the Municipality would go on its policy aimed at solving the problems existing in the capital for years.
“The problems of the dwellers of the high accident rate buildings have always been in the center of attention of the President of the Republic and of the city authorities as well, and in teamwork with the Government we have taken serious measures in this regard. As a result of these measures, in 2013 we solved the problem of providing 207 families with new flats. Last year we started the construction of 4 more buildings and recently we have handed 100 flats to the residents at Margaryan 45. And today 100 families more have got their flats”, said the Mayor.
Mayor Taron Margaryan familiarized himself with the flats, appreciated the work done together with the residents. This 12-storey building has two porches, 2 elevators in each porch. By the order of Yerevan Municipality, 120 1 and 2-roomed flats have been constructed in the building. The seismic stability of the building corresponds to the standards determined for the Republic of Armenia, the block of flats is provided with wheelchair access. The flats have been provided with individual heating systems.
“We have put the flats into operation completely repaired and ready for living. By the end of the year we will put into operation two more buildings and this way, as we have promised we will solve the problem of resettlement of 650 families residing in high accident rate buildings”, said the Mayor.
The families which used to be deprived of elementary living conditions in permanent scare atmosphere expressed gratitude for this vital social program pointing out that they had got their most expected present from the Mayor.
