The children from more than ten elementary schools in Armenia’s capital city of Yerevan were at Yerevan Zoo on Saturday.

The schoolchildren prepared dishes from pumpkins and fruits, and fed them to their favorite animals at the zoo.     

The dishes, which the children prepared within the framework of the annual Pumpkin Day festival-contest, also competed in several categories and the winners received prizes.   

Yerevan Zoo Director Ruben Khachatryan told reporters that the objective of this and other similar events is to bring children closer to the animal world.
