The £27m Armenian struggled for game time at the start of the season and was hauled off at half time during his full Premier League debut for the Red Devils.
Supporters were bemused at his absence as the team cried out for creativity.
However, the playmaker has shone light on conversations he had with boss Mourinho in which he was told to improve certain aspects of his game.

Mkhitaryan said: "I don't want to talk about that [not playing before] because it is in the past already.
"I think positive. I'm glad to have more playing time in the future because its something that is unpredictable.
