Genocide Centennial Gold Crosses

Genocide Centennial Gold Crosses

Proceeds to be allocated to the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute in Yerevan

LAS VEGAS -- What do you get when you combine the vision of two enterprising yetstaunch Armenians, one coming from the high tech precision manufacturing world andthe other from the high-end jewelry design scene? None other than old-world artisanprocesses and 3D laser printing to achieve the perfect Armenian cross.

Thecommon pursuit of many Armenians is to create the perfect Armenian cross forthemselves, each a bit different as a reflection of the character of the onewho wears it. Indeed, many Armenians are proud of having images of a crosstattooed on their bodies, incorporating them in their artwork, orshowcasing them in different ways to affirm their commitment to the homeland, Armenia, the first nation to accept Christianity as its state religion.

The endeavor to create a couple of perfect Armeniancrosses was the catalyst that brought a new venture, known as Precious Armenian Gifts, to life. These crosses have been carved under magnification, then casted and re-casted-- almost deconstructed -- into individual units, a feat which hasrarely, if ever, been done to an Armenian cross. Next, all of the assemblies are individuallypolished and laser welded with the highest attention to detail.

During the ensuing months of 2015,the two creators will collaborate and release limited edition, wearablejewelry of very high quality, themed in a wide variety of Armenian subjects. Such diverse themeswill include never-before-done, detailed profiles of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, General Vartan Mamigonian (Katch Vartan), and the Armenian Genocide Memorial (Dzidzernagapert), allof which will be transformed into wearable,high-end jewelry.

Once the two creative perfectionists produce the perfect Armeniancross with an original floral center and a modern depiction of Mount Ararat on therear side, they endeavor to take their project a step further. On a recent visit toArmenia, and as a result of the deep impression that the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute and Memorial Complex left on one of the creators,he returned to the United States with a vison to share the wearable cross as a way to raise global awareness of the genocide, while simultaneously allocating the proceeds of its sales to good use.

Hence, Armenian PreciousGifts created a series of three different crosses from the platform of theoriginal cross design, with a limited run of 100 units each, to pay homage tothe centennial anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. Instead of the usual portrayal ofMount Araraton the rear side, the new cross design adorns in the bold number “100.” Meanwhile, the fronttraditional floral center of the cross has a more valiant appearance compared to the originally created cross design.

Most notably, each cross will incorporate gold, minedfrom the soil of the motherland, and specifically from the abundant Zod (or Sotk) gold deposit located in the Armenian province of Gegharkunik.

What better way to commemorate the centennial of the Armenian Genocidethan by proclaiming one’s love and devotion to Christianity and the cross, an overarching symbol which kept and continues to keep Armenians united for nearly two millennia, while simultaneously keeping the homeland close to heart? In addition to raising global awareness of the Armenian Genocide, a major portion ofthe proceeds of this cross will be donated to the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institutein Yerevan. The museum is a heart-rending repository of first-hand evidence, proving the undeniable veracity of one of the most horrific crimes in modern times, and tantamount to“ground zero”for the Armenian nation.

The crosses will come in three combinations of Yerevan Yellow Gold,Spitak White Gold, and Armenian Tufa Rose Gold. All crosses will ship in acommemorative, ancient olive-wood gift box with a beautiful laserinscription. These crosses are an authentic work of art, and a great way torealize one’s mission of creating the perfect Armenian cross, while raisingawareness of and contributing to a great cause.
